Vladka Meed (her real full name was Feigele Peltel-Miedzyrzecki) was 17 years old when Hitler's army conquered Poland and entered Warsaw. She had been a member of the underground and, because of her Aryan appearance, was called upon to infiltrate the German side and so was able to target her efforts on both sides of the gheto wall constructed by the Nazis.
